We use 1/2" blue board sheets for
interior wall sheathing with a skim coat of plaster over all. We
feel this method is superior to dry wall in that it takes only a
third as long to complete the job and with much less dust. A
plaster skim coat is harder and smoother. It makes it easier to
deal with imperfections that are in an older home and leaves a
surface that any painter would be happy to coat.
Pink fiberglass insulation is the only
kind we use. It is applied by professional installers and makes a
home warm in the winter, cooler in the summer and adds a dimension
of soundproofing as well. However, when we cannot get to some of
the interior spaces, we blow in a product that gets into all the
nooks and crannies, leaving your space warm and quiet.
